At Diamante Dog we like to keep in touch with current trends within the industry.

We recently attended the first ever 'Festival of Grooming' which was held at the Belfry, Tamworth 16th & 17th July 2011.

A new and exciting two day celebration of grooming to promote best practice in the grooming industry and to further the standard and knowledge of groomers. 

This proved to be a fantastic weekend where we met around 300 other National and International groomers and engaged in fun grooming demonstrations and informative talks given by world leading authorities.

Who we met:    

Melissa Verplank - Melissa is a certified Master Stylist and the author of the best-selling Notes from the Grooming Table.  She has over 30 years experience in the pet grooming industry and is a long time business owner.  She currently operates a luxury boarding facility and two companies that help educate professional groomers and stylists.     

Colin Taylor - Demonstration: Scissoring a Bedlington Terrier 
Colin is a well known judge and speaker at grooming contests and demonstrations around the world.  He started his career at the London Academy of Grooming then worked at the Hong Kong Doggie House before moving to America to work for the next 20 years.  He is certified in the UK and the USA and was a member of Groom Team Scotland in 2007.

Sharon Pine-Haynes - Demonstration: Poodle Topknots and Show Coat
Sharon of Vicmar Poodles has owned and shown Standard Poodles with outstanding results. At this year’s Crufts Sharon won the Utility Group with her CH Vicmars Rave On aka Theo. Sharon brought Theo to the festival especially for this demonstration.

Bill Browne-Cole -  Demonstration: Fox Wire Terrier Hand-strip
Bill was first awarded his first CC over 40 years ago. He has had the pleasure in judging Crufts many times before specialising in Terriers breeds and the Terrier Group in 2008.

We were also accompanied to this event with Sarah from Sniffers Grooming Salon, Wombourn with which we have a strong professional association.
