PAWS IN THE PARK

Today we attended PAWS IN THE PARK, a fundraising event hosted by K9 Search UK & Friends of Red House Park in association with West Midlands Police - Sandwell Local Policing Unit at Red House Park, Great Barr.

Diamante Dog, likes to assist K9 Search where possible and have performed grooms on many of their dogs that they have been fortunate enough to save from destruction. 

For this event we donated grooming prizes to be won on the day to the value of £50 in order to aid the fundraising event. We will reveal the lucky winners of these prizes in due course!

It was a fantastic, fun filled day with a high number of visitors and everyone in good spirits as we couldn't have asked for better weather for the event.  What went on? There was plenty to see and do:

*    Fun Dog Show (10 classes)
*    Agility Dog Show by HJM Agility Dog Agility Training
*    Microchipping (a very important concern to K9 Search)    
*    Childrens Entertainment
*    Tombola
*    Stalls and much more

Who are K9 Search?

The K9 Search UK team consists of people from all walks of life, but all with the same aim, to ensure that every stray dog has the opportunity to be reunited with its owner.  However, there are times when it is impossible to locate the owners simply because the owners failed to identify their dogs by means of a tag, microchip or tattoo.  

In situations where an owner cannot be located, a stray dog will remain in kennels for 7 clear days.  After this time the dog can legally be rehomed or put to sleep.  K9 Search UK are fortunate enough to have some very caring kennels that do not put to sleep on a whim.  But there are times when the kennels reach their regulated capacity and there is no other option.  It is at times like this when K9 Search UK assist by sourcing rescue placements and transporting dogs under threat of destruction to places of safety.
